Tabb, MD Award and the Tulane 34 Award, which recognizes leadership and service.

His research includes studies on nasal cerebrospinal fluid leaks, pediatric sleep apnea, and the use of intraoperative nerve monitoring in thyroid surgery. He has also contributed to educational texts, such as the book chapter “History of Frontal Sinus Surgery” in The Frontal Sinus, 2nd Edition.

Dr. Fatakia currently serves as President of the Greater New Orleans ENT Society, where he leads initiatives to advance professional education, clinical collaboration, and innovation among otolaryngology specialists in the region. His professional service also includes work with the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Grant for Post-Katrina Healthcare Reform, focused on strengthening healthcare delivery systems and supporting medical excellence throughout Louisiana.
